Many of AERIE’s courses offer training in navigation. But for many outdoors seekers, that means relying on electronic devices. Certainly GPS units and watches, phone map apps, and the like can be helpful. But two big questions remain… How capable are you in using these devices and aids? And more importantly, are you prepared (and equipped) to go “old school” if the batteries go dead or the device breaks???
